His life

He studied law at the University of Budapest and graduated as a lawyer.

His first wife was Lilly Amália Gutmann, daughter of Vilmos Gutmann, owner of Gutmann S.H., and they had two children, Zsuzsa and Mária Tessa. His second wife was Lili Hatvany, daughter of József Hatvany-Deutsch, who had one child, Mária Gabriella. Her daughter Zsuzsa became a famous poet.

In 1906 he was made a baronet.

Professional activity

He did his professional training in Vienna, Paris and London, and in 1899 he started working at the Hungarian Agricultural and Residue Bank Ltd.

From 1900 he was the general secretary, then CEO of the Hungarian Mortgage and Credit Bank Ltd., and from 1917 to 1925 he was its chairman and CEO.

Hungarian-Italian Bank Ltd.

1920 - 1939 Vice-president of the Hungarian-Italian Bank.

Public activities

From 1910 to 1918, he was a member of parliament with a National Labour Party programme. President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce.
